Just went to shop in my nova v6 2.5, and the clutch pedal went flat, with no pressure at all, as if the cable had snapped, its apparently has a new redtop clutch and flywheel fitted, can anyone help, maybe the release bearing has fallen off??? Thanks

are you sure the cable hasn't failed?

it could be the bearing carrier & cross-shaft

does the clutch arm move?

The arm moves when the pedel is pressed but theres no pressure at all

take the bottom cover off, it could be lots of things.

ok can you change the bearing without dropping the box?
thanks mate

yes, you need to undo the endplate off the box too, but get the bottom cover off to see the damage, cos a broken thrust bearing usually sounds terrible before it fails

agreed, without pressing the pedal it would make a right row.Could be many things to be fair.Get the inspection cover off at the very least

ye, but was running perfect then suddenly no clutch, just run it now and the clutch arm the cable goes on is free goes forward and back easilly, maybe the shaft has snapped? will take the cover off in morning :(

Just taken the inspection plate off and the release bearing goes fully forward and back on shaft. so am i right in thinking the pressure plate is broke?

sounds like it. i take it the bearing goes all the way to the end

has it got drive?

The bearing goes all the way forward, the gearbox works fine, just no clutch

pressure plate has knackered then.

thought so, do i need to drop the box now or can it be done through inspection plate

mowgli

it is doable. you have to take the endplate off the box & withdraw the shaft. and its about as easy to drop the box

took the clutch out and found nothing wrong with it at all, the lever arm had snapped away from the shaft, all back together now. and ive got a flat battery Great!!
