IIRC it's not the first mk1 GTE to in metallic black to have that said about it. lol
Is the Bruce's old car?
Yes, then S1 RST off here had it and fitted the LET and F28 IIRC.

OK so they usually don't rot as bad as MK2's or so the rumour goes, but many people put MK2 front ends and MK2 dash's in them :p even sports are gay lol

A & B reg were apparently made of British grade steel which wasn't as susceptible to rust as the Spanish crap.

the brittish made steel?
A B C and early D I heard, apparently the switchover is the reason for a lack of D registered novas.
Hmmm early 80's cars made from Brit steel, late 80's made from Spanish steel, not many D reg (86) novas and a brittish coal strike?

The reason why mk2s rust more is the seam sealer, it traps the moisture, mk1s had less, so didnt suffer so bad.
looks the same colour as this

D reg was a bad year for most manufactuers as thats the worst year for the ford XR2's and 3i's etc.
Something to do with strikes so they used cheap foriegn steel.
