...yesterday while tidying and cleaning the garage to help make working on the Nova more pleasant.
At first I had no idea what it was, all I knew was it was a big rectangular box which was rather heavy and had been in the garage since we moved into this place back in the 80's.
Then I took it in to investigate further.

I opened it and thought 'wow'

Yep it's an old school tape player/recorder probably from the late 70's early 80's (yes, probably older than a Nova lol ) Now I know what those two grilles are for at the top of the casing - speakers!
Twisting and turning knobs and switches, it feels quality, all the knobs have a lovely weighted resistance and they turn at a slow speed unlike the cheaper rubbish you get now-a-days that have no feeling.
I saw a little hatch on the side, opened it and there was the power cable. Plugged it into the mains and hey presto... it worked! The dBVU meters lit up, and the bulbs inside the amps with the old school orange glow did too.

Everything works! Shame I didn't have a tape reel compatible with it :(
On further research today, I actually found out that it's from the 60's!
