i want a winter car when i come home as

the nova will be on the final lap and getting finished so technically not road worthy yet

but i dont really wanna run my nova or evo in all the salt and **** we have on our roads

i fancy a TD Ford focus 3 or 5 dr probabaly a Ghia (snob lol)

a Lupo GTi cos i think they are cool as fcuk

or just insure my old mans Laguna that he cant give away as its a 1800 petrol and take 3 weeks to do 60 and drinks like a fish, but then i can put monies i dont spend on a car into renevating my new batchelor pad lol and just insure the french wagon on a 2month policy or something

comments / opinions please:thumb:

mods would be:

renault = wash/polish it keep oil checked

Ford = 17" multispokes, decent ipod stereo, clear indicators

VW= as she comes from the factory and same as renault, including service etc

Lupo's are class..

But..

Hold value well, hence expensive to buy.

MK1 Focus TDi is a nice car, I had one.

yes thats prob why i wont get a Lupo GTi, prob more than what i wanna spend

focus look around £1200 ish want a 51 plate or summat

reno is most sensible option and its an ok car for what i want, just wish it was the DCi, its as greedy as my evo but not quite as much fun lol

A shed off eBay for a couple of hundred with tax and test then throw it in the bin when your done. Hard to beat having a car you aren't worried about getting scraped or dented etc. If you buy something you like you'll end up spending money adding bits, only to sell it again.....no point making a nice car for someone else mate.

Justy ;)

Lupos are sodding pricey to buy, the gti's seem expensive to run (eg road tax and insurance is high imho), the 1.4 tdi sport is rare as rockinghorse poo, and ******* expensive to buy.

I'm looking at Audi A2's for tedious motoring on the cheap until I can get something fun again

I've had a couple of A2 Tdi's. Surprisingly quick and really good mpg plus cheap tax. The first one was excellent and racked up about 30K+ in 18 months or so. The second however was a shed a cost me a fortune! well worth a look though...

Buy a Corsa C. Crash it into everything, sell it in the spring as "rat look".

Im tempted to buy a winter runabout. Looking for the cheapest car i can get with an mot (£200 or so) and not worry about the icy weather and if i crash it or not. When the weather gets better then i would just get my money back weighing it in. Best way really just for a runabout.

steve wants a diesel frontera to see him through the winter, i think because he knows with the cav being 4 wheel drive, he'll treat it like he did the white one last year lol

lupo gti?? one of steves' mates is selling a 1.6 8v seat arosa (engines from a skoda felicia lol) the arosa's are basically a lupo lol

i'd not get anything that a like/want as a winter hack, as all you will do is spend money on it, then be annoyed when it slides into a ditch in the snow. get a cheap sh1tbox and run it into the ground

and 4x4's are FTW. i've just got a disco, which will be great when it snows/whole country grinds to a halt. except me :D
