My girlfriends mothers vectra decided to cut out today. Its an 02 reg 2.0 diesel. Anyone got any ideas to what it is. I think it may be fuel pump as you can't hear it priming when the ignition is put on :( it has nearly half a tank of fuel so it is not empty.

The 2.0 dti has a large mechanical pump on the front of the block, which are prone to failure. Any fault codes?

Ok. if it has a "can recieves error" fault code stored it will be the fuel pump. Have you cracked the injector pipes off and see if the squirt fuel when cranked?

Not yet as I have no tools with me. Recovery folk said there was no fuel getting through though.
