Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but tis' my first post.
Well I'm 17 and I have a 1984 Mini Mayfair which Im currently restoring, but Im growing ever more fond of Nova's
I fancy something like a GTE but at 17 the insurance would be a killer..

Any ideas people, should I give up the Mini when its done?

Original Mini's are cool!! If your planning on getting a Nova at 17 go for an SR or SRi in my opinion.

Get an sr, more than quick enough at your age. Ade has a fairly tidy one up for grabs for good money at the minute, check the for sale section :)

Oh, and welcome, read the rules, wipe your feet, and make yourself at home

welcome aboard, nowt wrong with mini's. My first car was a 1975 tangerine effort with nice wide mamba wheels and arches :d loved it to bits, sooo much fun, and it was born the same year as me lol lol

as per mikes post an sr would be your limit to be honest if you want a sporty thing, but the 1.2 is just as much of a hoot when it comes to affordability for those first few precious years of no claims building

Same, i was in the hairdessers the other day an they had a Mini World mag on the side, having a nosey through it you can get some awesome bits for them!

I already know about what engines can be fitted in them, XE's, E16/C16, B16, B18 etc but some of the bits are really nice!!

Obviously your mechanical skills are some what lacking then Matt :d

Nova's are easy and cheap to maintain IMO even as a daily

only get a nova if you love welding, suppose the same goes for a classic mini lol
