Surging GSI when at low speeds off the throttle?? Any ideas?

Ive got a 93-k reg Novas GSi and when Im at low speeds and back off the throttle (e.g, approaching a round about or junction) the car tends to surge and kinda judder. If you put the clutch down and let it up slowly you can control it and make it stop.
Just wondering if anyone has had any similar problems??

throttle position sensor ;)
located directly opposite where the throttlw cable joins into the throttle body, litle black sensor.
