I recently sold a Sovereign ring on ebay that my nan gave me when i was young.
it was a 9ct Gold half soveriegn ring.

Title was:9ct Half Gold Soveriegn ring 7grams

Description was: Up for sale a 9ct Half Sovereign Ring
the coin has a little fade due to age of it (1909)
On kitchen weighing scales it comes in at 7grams
im unsure of ring size.

If you would like to know anymore info or would like more pictures please feel free to ask me.

--------------------

anyway. Some bloke bought it for £100 + £5 P+P.

25+ days later emailed me telling me he had sold the coin on and found out that the coin was 9ct gold when he thought it was 22ct

i told him that no-were in the description or title did it say it was 22ct.

he then told me he wanted a £40 refund outside of ebay to cover his losses. Or he would open a ebay dispute
i told him to open one as it was listed as 9ct.

Who is at fault on it?
No were did i say anything was 22ct in the description nor emails but he seems to think that all coins should be 22ct bearing in mind how easy the coins are to take out of the casing.

lol
Yeah i didnt think i was in the wrong but ive never had a dispute opened on ebay so i was not sure on who's side they would take.

But it was all described correctly and he didn't ask me any questions just payed for it and i got it sent to him. positive feedback given from him etc and then decided to complain to me today.

Pistol Pete likes this.

He is trying it on. And lol @ wanting £40 outside eBay!!! They frown upon that kind of thing.

eBay wierdos mate, he can go funk himself tbh. You are 100% in the right as you listed the item correctly.

Tell him you've sent his refund to the guy he tried to sell the ring to as a 22ct as compensation for dealing with such a tit!

Stand your ground, you are perfectly correct.

heres my purchase read the description,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250706448492&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

collected had to bump start as battery flat,20psi in each tyre,
fuel tap had snapped off,
all aluminium left to oxidise in rain,no petrol in it and battery scrap, splutters under acceleration (poss carbs clean and set or plugs)

emailed him saying i would require minimum money returned to pay for a new battery at least or i will leave feedback accordingly

Just tell him you can't offer a refund of any sort outside of ebay as its in breach of their policies. If he wants to go through the official channels then he should raise a dispute
