hi i have recently brought my first nova. its nice and clean with no rust, but im thinking of swaping the engine (its a 1.2)
if anyone has any advice of which engine to use and what costs i should exect i will be very greatfull
im thinking a 1.6, 16v (x16xe i think) but im not sure what car they are from.
is the nova gte 1.6 8v?

Hi and welcome to PNG :) once you have made it to 15 non-spammed posts you can get some pictures up. Yes the GTE was fitted with the 1.6 8v (E16SE) which is a cracking engine but the later 16v engines are also a popular swap. The C16XE was the earlier version and the X16XE the revised version to meet higher emission standards.
Mechanically the C/X16XE is a fairly straight-forward swap as the shafts and mounts are all the same, but the coolant hoses are different on the Corsa but this is quite simple to work out. Make sure you get an F13/F15 gearbox to go with the 16v as the F10 bellhousing is too small for the flywheel. The exhaust is a case of using the Corsa manifold mated to a Nova system with a modified front pipe
The wiring is quite simple too, and there are plenty of guides on here to help you along :thumb:

bout 105 i think mate standard.. changing manifolds makes a big difference on those aswell mate
