Just reading the listing & its in Newport Shropshire where i have lived all my life!!
Never seen it but looking at the pic i know exactly where it is!
the panscrapers nova is on airride, it has the compressor above the gearbox (it's a 1,0)
Air ride is cheating, but does give great results.
I've seen that in the Guinness book of records and on TV but never knew it was from down the road

All 'slammed' cars do look broken and usually end up broken due to being too low lol
Looks 'cool' lol

No reason why a properly engineered solution would break.
In fact I'ud go as far as to say something like this would outlast a standard setup:-

Aye but sticking like 80/90mm springs on a Nova/Corsa with everything else standard is like a dieaster waiting to happen lol
Not really lol my mate has a nova and its on 90mm rear springs and he hasent had any problems in the last year, and nother mate has a corsa with 110mm on rear and he also hasent had any problems.

Theres a difference between an ultra low race car that spends all its time on a nice smooth track, and an overly lowered road car that has to deal with potholes and bumps. A totally slammed nova is likely to start pulling apart its flimsy spot welds, if theres barely any spring movement to absorb the impacts.

Worth mentioning Paul that that Vectra ISN'T something that has an easy suspension / chassis life. It may not look it from the outside but BELIEVE ME when I say some of the red & white rumble strips used almost every corner on a circuit are dam harsh - rougher than a lot of stuff on the road - so on balance such a racer isn't some fragile little flower; it has to be and is, WAY stronger & durable than something that only sees perfectly flat smooth tarmac 100% of the time.

lol remove the bump stops/ get smaller ones.
Love the Vectra.

Not to mention a fully stitch welded chassis, traingulated multipoint FIA spec cage, and 100% revised suspension and drive train setup.
I agree though. STW cars get some hammer!
and you could have bought Clelands cav from touringcarspares for a meer £18k (from memory)...complete with 4 engines, mutipul sets of panels, 6 or 7 sets of wheels...
Yeah, STW cars start around that kind of money with comprehensive spares packages.
Spend another few quid and you could even buy a competitive car. :P
i thought it was rather cheap, considering what it was and what you got. i do have a soft spot for my cav loons
Yeah they're well cheap when you consider the £millions of R&D that went into them and the fact that you're looking at itro £7K just for an XTRAC 'box etc but it's the cost of running one for a season that bites hard! lol
I'm in touch with a guy (Richard Hawken) who runs an ex-works 97 Primera in Formula saloons and the like and he was saying how much it costs to keep going - and he's a stockbroker! lmao
