Im getting layed off this friday after being at my firm 4 years.

thought it was going to be ok but this close to christmas its going to be hard to get a job :(

rang like 7 firms today, not any of them have work!

Sorry to hear mate I've heard alot of people are getting made redundant, keep your head up though, there's always a job out there :)

Im a civil engineer (groundworker) the firms going under so its not just me...

il be getting about £1500 redundo so thats a bonus :) and i think theres plenty of work on the agency, i just need to get myself a daily now.

I was only on an apple and a bag of crisps an hour lol itl last me for a while hopefully.
agency work seems to be more an hour for me anyway so if i get work up untill cristmas the £1500 will be like a bonus.

yeah i rang round a few agencys today and they told me to inform the other lads at my firm to sign up as theres a fair bit of work coming up.

Sod them lol look after number 1!!!! The agency probably just wants loads of names on thier books. They are ****ers for that. Hope you get something sorted.

i had to make some redundancies a short while back.

was selective though, not the whole lot lol.
out of the 6 people, the worst one was when i gave him the envelope and he asked if i was joking...

I gave up an awesome job at Aston Martin, to work in F1 a year ago. 4 months in I was made redundant 4 days before the Australian GP... I was out of work a month, then walked into EuroCarParts one day for some bits, walked out with a job...

Fingers crossed and chin up, you never know what's round the corner! 18months on and I just started back at Jaguar Land Rover today.
