YouTube to MP3 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11047/) is quite a useful Firefox addon.

Bear in mind ripping music from Youtube no doubt violates a whole load of copyright laws...

i buy most of mine, the only copied stuff i have is from mates who have bought it

Mazz

so, again, technically stealing as you don't own the original - yes?

Sloth
12-10-10, 08:20 PM
not really as theyhave paid full price for it, and its not being resold.

Mazz

so say i d/l an album from a torrent site (whatever they are) that originally was bought, is that the same?

prob not as alot of music on the net is stolen from the record companies. for me its a moral choice aswell as a supporting thing to do if its a smal artiste.

Still theft.

You may copy for your OWN use

So you never taped an album off a mate as a kid? :d

Exactly what i said...you may legally 'back-up' cd's/dvd's what you already own, not copy your mates...

Torrents are blatant theft obviously.

I used to always tape yes tape lol the radio when younger to have the latest dance music at the time when driving, that was classed as illegal but everyone did it, now we have podcasts though which aren't :tard:

Downloading a YouTube video/tune you want is tbh as Jack mentioned really poor quality but I've done it, usually as a bit of a nostalgia trip, wouldn't listen on a iPod or in the car as they sounds hamshank.

Yeah, torrent sites technically aren't doing anything wrong. In fact, torrent sites, apps and P2P clients are all perfectly legal, its just the act of using them to share material that breaches copyright thats the illegal bit.

LMFAO whut? 99.9% of music on most P2P applications is that which the app has dragged out of people's music folders on their computers. And again, 99% of that will be music thats been ripped from CD.

Please bear in mind the rules ;)

Torrents are good for Linux distros :)
