It goes with the territory if you use EBAY, it's just an endless stream of wasters when you sell a car, with the occasional good guy amongst them.

ebay is a nightmare for selling car parts,in the last few weeks of having listings,ive had folk pm me to ask how to wire up a C20xe,how to fit rear discs,how get more power??!!! WTF??!!! Funnily enough those questions had nothing to do with what i was selling!

Exactly, a couple of friends of mine got some nice cars by asking stupid low prices, the seller was emigrating & needed rid ASAP. Ended up with an 04 reg Transit Connect for £1800.
salvage is where its at, one of my ex colleagues got an 02 plate scoob wrx sti thing for £2k with a bust light and bumper back in 09
Yea ive had a few salvage motors. Missed out on an Escort Cosworth on a Cat D for £5k thought a few months ago.
Was missing OE centre caps, both headlights, 1 mirror & the OE nearside sideskirt. My Corsa van is Ex salvage. Was a Cat D.
i don't mind it when people come in with silly low offers as i know i'd try the same thing, you don't know if you don't ask! how ever its often their attitude that gets me worked up, for example i had one with my cupra "i'll give you a grand for it and thats being generous as its only worth 800 quid at the most" i just politely told the bloke that i'd rather strip and scrap it for that, grrr
when i get ghay offers i simply reply with "last time i checked,there was still food in my cupboards,so no,i will not take £100 for a V reg car with 6months t+t"

lol i had some bloke drive up from Plymouth IIRC to look at my Bora i had FS. He offered me £1800 (was up for £2800) i simply told him to enjoy his drive home and walked away. Cnuts!!

my mates drove 3.30 houres to go buy a 1.9gti 205 for £2500 the guy said it was an absulut minter they phoned him about 10 times asking him if it was good comdition and that he said yes one of the best he has seen hes doing him self out letting it go for 2500 when they got thier they said the car was rotten bumpers were hanging off and the interior was a mess and the car was only fit for the scrap yard they then prooceeded to chase him about a car park for 15 minutes before giving up and driving home i lughted so much when they came back maris is your car sold i noticed it on a website

there was a set of full lether electric seats and door cards and centre console for a z3 buy it now £300 or best offer i emailed saying £100 and i would offer it just before the auction ended so 2 mins to go i offered £100 and i got it and that was inc delivery lol

it doesn't matter how much or how big you write no time wasters tyre kickers or test pilots you still get some one offering you stupid swaps and thinking they can build what you done for less but they give you couple quid more than there willing to pay to save them doing it absoulate tos$%r's
my brother sold an E30 320 in the auto trader some years back... this bloke turned up in a maestro city.. during the test drive, he was trying to pick fault with its handling claiming it was pulling funnily to one side etc..... they got back and climbed out and just as the bloke took the deep breath before offering him some crazy low figure, my brother says ' fcuk off, you don't deserve a car this good, go on, fcuk off right now' the bloke said 'but i haven't offered you anything for it yet', and my brother said 'i don't care, i will not sell it to you in a million years, now get in that maestro & fcuk off'.. then sold it for the full asking price to the next buyer.
also my missus got offered some stupid low price for our astra mk3, off a bloke who was adamant it had been in a major front ender, when it hadn't, and left his card, so we would see sense & take his pitiful offer.. so when we sold it, the missus rang the bloke & told him.

mate of mines just got a legacy 2.0 non turbo estate, and for a jap car its a riot. handles mint due to the 4wd, and is frugal as hell. i had a go in a gt-b aaaages ago and it was a rocketship, 120 appeared in no time....
Legacy FTW. Come to think of it, I haven't seen the awesome local black gen 1 quad cam, twin turbo (RSR?) saloon that belongs to some middle aged woman for a while. :(

early mk1 legacy turbos are indeed rsr's and go like frigging stink, alot faster than later ones, due to a less restrictive map and spikey cams etc. remember they rallied the legacy first, then whacked the motor into the impreza. muchos want fro a black mk1 rsr, with the later gt-b brakes and susp. hell of alot of parts interchangeability too....
