I have just bought a redtop c20xe that came from a 1990 cavalier.

it has no loom or ecu...i was hoping you boys could help me out

Is it a dizzy engine? And why oh why did you buy an engine with no loom??!!

yea its a dizzy, i thought it would be easy enough to get a loom. there are loads of looms for sale but turns out they are all different

you need a motronic m2.5 loom and ecu, any dizzy loom from 1990 on will do. just avoid the coil pack ones. try the vauxhall performance spares centre

so a loom and ecu from a 89 gsi cav wont work??

there is no such thing iirc, the cav gsi launched in 1990, only the astra mk2 had the xe before then, and they run the ml4.1 loom, totally different

so i can use dizzy calibra, dizzy cav or dizzy mark 3 astra. are they al motronic m2.5 loom.

and will they all plug into the ecu out of the cav....code on the ecu is GL

the one you posted looks like an astra mk2 loom, there isnt the 2 small black and 1 green plug near the main ecu plug. the one i posted is definately the correct one.

i havwe just emailed that guy as he has not said what it came out of. how do you know it aint a mark 2 astra??

you can tell by the plugs and where they are on the loom.

that last one has t/c, i was told the loom is different.

the 89 gsi loom guy just got back to me. apparently the loom came out of a g reg cav gsi 20xe non lambda sensor was one of the 1st cavs built. its the 156bhp engine.

um as far as my knowledge went..i thought only the mk2 gte astra had the 156bhp engine. im guessn this guy hasnt a clue then lol
