a question was posted, how can i make my 1.2 faster??
Here is the reply
"Depends on what money you have really.
Go to your nearest engineering company and ask to see whether they can
polish your ports or skim the head for you (that should clean the crap out
of the engine so it acts like new again).
Another thing to do is to re-bore your piston chambers (that requires ???
and new pistons, but you get a bigger engine CC (so its a bigger engine than
1.2).
If you have a Mk2 nova it is an injection engine, you can get other things
like an induction kit (K & N etc) or a K & N air filter, you could get an
Ecotek: - www.ecotekplc.com (that increases power as well as economy for
about ?50).
Of course if you have the money get a stainless steel exhaust system with a
4 to 1 manifold (about ?500 - ?550 for a really good one by magnex)
Courtenay Sport (courtenaysport.co.uk) do conversions for new engine builds
and may have a turbo upgrade or something similar.
Of course most of these (except the ecotek, the head skimming and the port
polishing require the insurance company to be informed and they will incur
in extra insurance costs)
at the mo i have a 1.0 but it will soon have a turbo strapped to it as well
as the Ecotek and perhaps a stainless exhaust system (not only do they help
performance, they also make the car sound sweeeeet.
Hope these pointers are some help"
