people cold calling for PPI claims/refunds are really starting to annoy me now tho
ive just paid out another £32 in bank charges,to say i turned the air blue in barclays bank would somewhat an understatement.Fukkin bollox man,i genuinely hope all banks crumble.Fukk them all.
Cash ftw,i only have a bank account for dd for insurance and phone bill.
Its just stealth,legalised extortion imo.

This. I filed a claim with Halifax at the start of the court case last year, i.e too late, and they sent a letter in the past couple of months detailing the fact that bank charges were ruled to not be charges but penalties. They can charge you 100k for going overdrawn if they like and as long as you click/sign I accept terms and condition when you sign up it's all fair and square.

I was lucky to have found a thread like this on passionford afew years ago and claimed on my current account, whilst u still could. i thought court case meant current accounts cant be claimed against.. but u can credit cards and loans as mentioned.. i claimed recently on credit card charges got a fair bit back again.

didnt the court rule that £12 was a 'fair' charge for over limit/late payments or did i dream that ?
and as said, i only deal with cash now, havent even got a debit card for my 'main' account
all my late charges recently have been £12... from various companies so that must have been decided to be a fair number
yeah mine have always been £12 (with capital 1) so not much point trying to claim as they might cancel my agreement and land me with a £700 bill lol

i get £8 charge per unpaid transaction,i wouldnt mind paying it if they actually paid the stuff that tried to get the funds,i even asked for a £50 OD and basically got told to get fukked.I only wanted it so if i forget to put cash in bank, which is 6miles away.
Thats the thing with being paid cash.

well i was mightily annoyed this morning when i logged onto online banking to discover i was -39.69, the b*stards have charged me 20 quid for going overdrawn last month, 15 quid 'paid referral fee' and 15 quid 'unpaid item fee' so now because of them, i'm going to get charged AGAIN because they've made me go overdrawn!! its a p!sstake!!

i meant all/any unfair charges.
Bottom line with all this claiming lark is only unfair charges..
yeah i claimed back charges that were unfair ; a while ago now, before these newer £12 'set-ones'
Back in day (6 maybe 7 years ago) I managed to blag back enough from Barclays to clear an entire overdraft leaving me with a nice balance, took the cash, closed the account an run.
Now its not so easy :(

lol lol something like that, was an ongoing dispute over 12 months, refunded all the chargres, all compound interest applied & an added extra as a "sweetener" type thing, didnt really wash though.

I would of been as well. Thankfully Natwest have stopped charging me since I went mad at them. Still waiting for all the "error" money to be refunded though.

i rang them this morning and had a right go at the 'ethnic cousin' that answered the phone, i said to him (in a rather loud angry voice) that because they'd made me go overdrawn, i was now going to get charged for them making me go overdrawn and all he kept repeating was 'you have breached terms and conditions by going overdrawn' so i kept repeating 'you made me go overdrawn', after about 10 minutes i got mightily peed off, told him i was taking my business elsewhere and hung up lol

I have been following the bank charges thing closely as the claim i put forward before the bank took it to court was in excess of 2k.
the £12 charges for credit cards was deemed fair a few yeas ago and anything was reclaimable.
But with bank charges with it going to court at the time of the counrty finaces going tits up the courts had to fold and deem charges fair but also at the same time banks started lowering there charges to tip the balance in there favour.
If they had ruled them unfair the bank would have to pay out to everyone that was owed them thus creating the banks going bankrupt.
Go into your local branch and have a pleasant chat about it... Works wonders.
I had a few on my current account and went in, asked the charges to be atleast halved and to not be so silly again. got a full refund and jobs a goodun :)

PPI makes me laugh. I had it automatically put onto a loan I once had - 2 minutes on the phone had it refunded. Only bellends carry on paying it without knowing what it is.
This reminds me actually, I need to check my Natwest overdraft, I was planning on using it to buy some tyres. lol
