Are robbing swines! My renewal came through today... it has gone up by £400 from £900ish to £1300ish Despite now being 22 and having 2 years NCB instead of 1

Is it just me that thinks that's absolutely nuts?

Sky have quoted me £1440 all mods declared on my 325i so will be taking that... once again thanks to the site's sponsors for not being thieves :)

After the meeting I had yesterday it seems that more price hikes are on the way unfortunately.

Swinton were laughable when I was calling round for quotes... They wanted more to insure one car than most others wanted to cover both.

Ollie, what kind of increase is likely with a NON fault claim? or is that a "how longs a piece of string".... I just need to know what to add into the uninsured losses figure :)

my mates runs a primera 1.6 p10. its worth 50p, his ins is 560 tpf+t with quinn. 5 yrs n/c and had his licence 5 yrs. hes 24. he uses it on a sat and sun only (works away) and does 5k miles. has a 1 yr old daughter, lives in a decent area with his grandparents, car is garaged. hes just got a 1998 scooby legacy 2.0 gls non turbo estate. quinn wanted £3,766 fully comp! having shopped round for him, swift cover have quoted £698 fully comp inc legal and windscreen etc. not a bad price. as a test i did an online one for a legacy gt-b twin turbo import, they only wanted £1238! cheap as....

Hard to say but we are worth a phone call, tel: 0208 3645500, UK Legacy is fine as long as he can prove club membership to us.

If you PM me I can have a look at the details, please let me know your surname, postcode and your renewal price, and if you can clarify your NCB level, that will help

Thanks

Ollie

Indeed, no one insurance company can be the best for everyone and I feel it is unfair to expect they can.
We get the odd bit of negative feedback from people who seem very angry if we cannot quote or are uncompetitive .. come on peoples.. just move on and find another insurer!

indeedy, SKY couldnt get 'close' to the right price on my VX, but were fantastic on the Passat, so all in the whole price was less (and done in one call) than most going to different places.

What am I missing. Is 1300 not less than 1440?

Jack

I assumed that was for the bimmer, whilst the 1300 was the egg

True Over 1300 for a 1.4 Egg or 1440 for a 2.5 Litre BMW with all mods such as M3 Kit, 18" wheels and suspension declared

I'm only complaining because it went up by such a drastic amount whilst having more NCB

Jack

Smug mode engaged. lol

I guess your NCB is used on the Bimmer, or does the egg earn its own NCB on that policy?

Rysee

The Egg is going and is being replaced by the Beemer just waiting to shift it. I'm insuring the Beemer when I have the NCB off the Egg's policy

I paid £127p/m on my 1.2 Nova with No NCB at 20 they now want £129p/n for the egg with two years NCB, mental just shows the rise insurance cost. Granted 1.2spi "Fun" and 1.4mpi SRi have different groupings and risks
