seriously, he made some little wooden posts & put 2 strands of white fencing wire up, & hooked them up to a 20km mains powered fencer, giving 9kv shocks.... tiddles & his mates never came near the place for months after...

but a tub of pepper dust sorts them out, available from all good pet stores/ wilko etc.

i did hear of a method involving visiting your local zoo & asking for a bucket of tiger poo.... sprinkle some of that round & no cat will get close.

lol were i lived before the was old man put cuttings of squid down in his garden. i ask him y he said look round in few months there be no cats around. so i asked my dad and it meant to swell there guts up and it kills them nasty but if there really piss you of that much. ( i have never done this by the way and will never do it as it sounds horrid ). or i think some one had said PEPPER DUST work fine cat never come round my garden .

if a cat eats loads of squid, it gets a vitamin deficiency..... that is all.

Bents & Queers sell an ultrasonic cat deterrant. It works too well lol I tried to point it at next doors land to keep their bloody ferrels away, but my cat refused to go outside with it switched on!

For your purposes it will be excellent

cut old 2 litre bottles of pop in half with pointy bits (so in a zig zag fasion) bury them with the points up in random points in the garden. cats with squat and get the points right in the ringer and not return in a hurry.

you can also get cat silhouettes that work well as the cat thinks that there is already one in the garden, if it gets dark in your garden pop a small solar garden light behind it and it'll light it up nicely and scare the pants off of any mog who wants to drop a turd on your flower beds.

Or you could always just pay some kid a fiver to sit in your garden for a couple of days and spray any cats that go in.

well, thats at least covered all the things that don't work but your neighbours get a good laugh watching you doing it

coventry people love animals... there is a charity that collects up urban foxes & releases them near the McDonalds on the hinckley northern perimeter road. then the local farmer shoots them all when they try to rob from his wheelie bin, well, its more of a wheelie sieve these days
