Also I have just aquired a set of coilovers and Cav slabs.

A bit of welding is needed on the back valance, front chassis leg and then the strengthening kit needs welding along with stitch welding. I also need a wing.
Cheers,
Jamie.
Looks a good project, don't forget you need a cut out the for alternator too..

The car has had a redtop in at some point. The alternator has been 'bashed' in. Also the scuttle panel has been cut for the loom.
ah, the pikey method! It works though :)

Them coilovers arent ideal for a 2l also.
If you can, I would upgrade them, as the engine and box is heavier, and the front end will bounce like a hooker!

Would I be OK just ordering a set of custom front springs?
Measure the internal diameter of the springs and order some new higher poundage ones rally design

I had 8" free length, 300lb/rate, 60mm I.D for my FK coilovers with an XE
I did away with the smaller helper springs too

Thanks, I intended to do away with the helper springs anyway so I could run more camber.

Small progress:
Picked up an engine and box last night. Going to give it a rebuild before it goes in I think.

Looks like your pretty much at stage I am pal I'd deffinately give engine a rebuild and replace some bits just so you know it's a sous engine and don't have to keep changing parts save you time in long run! But I'm just lazy!
