ball joint on my gear linkage keeps popping off..

as above its really annoying me now comes off every few hundred feet!

is there a split pin supposed to be there to keep it in place?
or is it just ****ed and i need a new one?

sorry i should be more clear...
its under the car sits right by the rack, its where the linkage from the gearbox joins the linkage from the gear stick has a little box which the ball joint pops into

You need a replacement unfortunately. Try to get a whole linkage with the balljoint attached as every time they are separated the joint weakens.

if you mean the rod with 2 sockets on, just get a corsa b one from the dealer

Mine used to do this and I'd loose reverse and fifth, there is no way of seperating the ball joints due to them being old and brittle, I say build a rj one as featured to the articles section
