Just went to fit my ashley four branch manifold to my sport and the bottom of the flange won't pull up to the head as it hits the top of the block where the engine numbers are.I can grind it a little but it is a new product so shouldn't have to imo.Anyone else had this problem?

check its the right one as edd says but its not unusual for aftermarket exhausts needing a bit of fettling

you surprise me. i ran a 1300 mk1 astra with an e16se, and the 1300 exhaust fitted perfectly. i didn't think there was any physical difference. it just sounds like it needs either a bit of modding or sending back for replacement

No **** surely they should have a jig for these that they have already tried on a vehicle!

on my custom exhaust, the flange looks the same as ollys one, and i have the same issue as him with the thermostat etc, but i just took the thermo off and put it on afterwards.

i had to grind down one of the welds on the flange on mine. the hole for the stud was so close to the weld you couldnt tighten the nut up fully cos it would hit the weld. I also had them send me a mk2 exhaust instead of a mk1 and also snapped a 4 branch at the bottom weld after a weeks usage. got told by a welder in my dads work the weld was ****.
