Hi guys! I have a nova 2.0 xe, I still have the oil cooler, recently I caught it and split the hose due to the wheel catching it on full lock, if I were to remove the lot what would ne required?
Thanks

you can pull the centre thread/bolt piece out which will enable the sandwich plate to be removed (the bit with the double pipe attachment, inlet and outlet. then youll need a centre thread/bolt piece from an 8v to replace the 16v item, its shorter in length, so allows u to screw a filter directly onto it.
getting them out can sometimes be a pain from what ive heard. i didnt have any probs removing 2 off other cars by wrapping a bit of rag round to protect the threads, then grip gently with a pair of big grips, or mole grips might do it. i dont think there left hand thread, as far as i can remember there normal.

Thanks, so what holds that centre piece in? The bit with the two pipes? After you take the filter off there is the thread exposed, then were do I go from there?cheers

Can you just plug the holes off or is this not possible?
do not just plug the holes, or put a bridge pipe in.. just do as jimbob has said.
The shorter stud/thread are hard to come by though - unless you have a scrap yard nearby.
Nova 1.3 are the same iirc.
You can cut the pipes and join them together for a short term fix.
