Help please

right on thursday morning on my way to work about half way there my car which is a 1 lire nova lol spluterd and started to missfire since then i have had the plugs out cleaned them set the gaps replaced all the plug leads cleand the dizzy and set all the gaps in there too my dizzy is rather worn. when driveing my car in between 2500 and 3000 revs it starts to misfire and keeps missing all the way to its new top speed of 55mph any advice and i no this is general chat i put it here so more people may look

the condensor on the side of the dizzy sounds like its fubared.. or the advance retard mech isn't working.. or the dizzy slipped, and the timing is out
