Seen a car alarm on eBay that looks pretty good remote start C/L tilt sensors motion sensors...
As some of you may know iv put my c20let into a corsa C
Just wondering how hard it is to fit car alarms? Would the wireing be all to cock with the conversion?
I want to try fitting it myself but I'm not sure!
dont alarms have to be fitted with a ticket from a fitter for insurance to be valid???

you can fit it yourself then get a qualified alarm guy to sign it off for a small fee

I just want it for peace of mind really just maybe someone noticing my alarm goin off would deter anyone from theiving it! Not to botherd about insurance but it'd obviously be a pluss if it made things cheaper :)
With a wording diagram and some basic knowledge would it be relatively simple to do... I.e remote start an c/l

im thinking there is no safety device on manual cars for remote start so if you leave it in gear by mistake your ****ed

ive just bought a hawk 280 pro off of ebay with remote start and central locking. Cost 60 to buy and thought id have a go fitting it myself untill i got it and the wiring boggled my brain so i had my auto electrician guy fit it and it took him 2 and a half days to fit it but now its in its brilliant full remote central locking anti hot-wire shock sensor and ultra-sonic movement sensors and remote start with safety features (wired in to handbrake to ensure its on) which i didnt get wired in cos i dont see the point. Id say buy the right system from reputable seller and get an electrician to wire it in and all will be well

Alarms are fairly easy to install tbh. When I bought mine I thought to myself that I'd never be able to do it. Just sat in the car and read the manual and took my time and before I knew it, it was done!
Managed to get everything wired up and it had quite a few features too.

wwell he did it at very cheap mates rates and charged me 70 quid for fitting so it cost about 130 all in and there was a certificate for the insurance but the system is not on thatchems approved list. Cant link because im on my phone but if you search hawk car alarm on ebay youll find it. Dont worry it doesnt wire in to your engine wiring only into your ignition wiring

Should be the same as the majority of the wiring will be on the car side, not the engine. Only stuff like remote start etc will need engine connections, but thats relatively basic.
I've wired in alarms on both my cars, just took the time first to study the manuals and figure out what wires I needed and where they were. Then drew my own diagrams for it.
