its a autograss car but is has to have a standard engine in a 1400 class but other people tweek and i would like to no if i can tweek and get the power up i have set the standard cam the same as a kent cam is set and it has given me a bit more in first and second and skimed head 2mm to bring back up the compression ratio but need more ideas
spend a lot of time & effort on the suspension & tyres on the car.. there are tons more gains to be made there than trying to squeeze 2hp out of an engine.. have you re-ringed the engine recently??

skim the bottom of the cam box for increased cam lift and duration, pretty sure this is popular with the grassers

and utter bollox. classic wind up. the car has to have hydraulic lifters, and thus moving the camshaft nearer to the valves won't increase lift or duration 1 bit as the hydraulic lifters will counter any alterations made.. it might affect the cam timing a little.. but repegging the cam wheel would be so easy to do.

ah but would work with solid lifters though... its hard to sift through what works and what is utter crap

I was thinking exactly the same, but was too polite to postlol

If you increased the lift by using solid lifters (with afore mentioned cambox base skim) wouldn't that keep the valves off the seat and therefore wouldn't run:wtf:
and solid lifters are banned in the lower class....but i'm sure some enterprising soul has come up with a way of making them.. but easy to find really..

a 1400sr with a wr box and about 100kg of extra trim will be always be faster than a well kept 1.2.. its either badly set up or you mate can't drive very fast.

Hiya mate, Vernier pullys (coz if your local rollin road is good than you can get emmense torque out of the vaux engines, Also change gear ratios depending on whether you want axelleration or top end, lighten flywheel, and irmsher did a manifold for the 1400's to take jenvey throttle bodies.
Hope this helps
Josh
