Needing new tyres, as my rears have a) scrubbed right down and b) the NSR has two massive nails in it lol

225/40/R18 (so the Celica), which to choose - FK452's are my tried and tested rubber, for the price I love them. But heard lots of good things with the KU31's - worth a punt on them? Are they good on a heavy car? Decent grip, life etc? They're £7 a tyre more expensive than the FK452's...

I have gsd3 F1's in 225/40/18 on the audi, love them too, excellent in the dry and very good in the wet and cold,

Ask stu, iirc there's a marshall tyre, same compound and tread pattern as the ku31's, but less money iirc.

Dad has used KU31's on all his cars - Sierra 4x4's Cav GSI's, and his Cupra R. He highly highly recommends them. I Had them on my nova (i no its not heavy, nor fast) but they gave me loads of life and a track day, and now they're on a corsa b van and still have loads of life left.

Give it a go, if your not happy, make a lifetime promise with your self over the rubber you use!

Marshal KH35's same rubber, asymetric pattern rather than directional... wasnt massively cheaper but it was far easier to get hold of when I needed tyres at the time.

Still not 100% sure of its grip in teh wet compared to the KU31...

I stand corrected. :)

KU31s are great in the wet and dry on a light Nova until they reach about 3 mm and it's wet then they aren't so good. A friend at work who used to own an S2000 likes the Falkens you mentioned, although they'e not to to be confused with the ZE 912s (as I expect you know already!!)
I currently run Vredestein Sportrac 3s on the Audi which have been a lovely wet weather summer tyre, although I expect you could go for Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas (which the same friend uses on his current E46 330d) as you have an 18" wheel.
On a side note whoring my winter choice - do you bother with winter tyres? I have a set of Dunlop SP Winter Responses which I can't wait to try out! Winter tyre whoring over.

they (KH35) do the dry as well, but I'm just not completely happy with the wet behavior.... but then the road I'm unhappy on is greasy as Lee in a gaybar lol

I had they on the Celica before. Comparible to the Falkens until they started to wear at about 6K, then I might as well have just taken the tyres off and run straight on the rims lol At least the Falkens are still grippy even though the tred is just about dead on the back. Plus they're considerably cheaper!

£340.04 fitted for all four; or the KU31s are £350.47 (that includes the 5% club discount those) fitted. Reckon you could do better at your place?

Danny, I don't usually bother with winter tyres - the falkens were fine in the snow last year lol
