I do find other drivers give a lot more "road courtesy" (if you get what I mean?) to the Celica than the Nova.

Try using the nearside lane and that might be why as they want to pass lol

Either that or they associate novas with the tarmac terrorist that is Porter and want to try and bully you/him hehe!

I thought tailgating was legal now?

Looking at the state of the motorways, everyone is at it.

When I drive the missus' Fiat Panda, people take the p1ss more than when I'm in my beaten up Audi saloon or Dad's even more beaten up Volvo 740 estate.

People that dont drive at the correct speed, dont drive in the right lane, coots that sit in the middle lane.

These are the people that get it. Are you one? If no then you should be getting it.

Oh and the pricks that do 40 in a 60 and call me a wan*er for passing them but when it changes back to a 40 pass me cause i'm doing 40...

There is some serious educating of drivers needed IMO. I've been saying it for yeurs, but the shocking state of driving around the UK is terrible. Most people have no clue about lane discipline or indicating not to mention all the evil habits frequented by drivers of German executive saloon's, they are the worst culprits.
Most BMW drivers treat chevrons like their own private over-taking zones & seldom indicate, the cliche is so true.

I wish I was a traffic cop, really I do.

The rear screen washer jet on my van points pretty much straigth at the windscreen of the car behind. That usually get rids of tailgaitors.

i have noticed the middle lane hogger is quite prevalent on weekends.... whenever i'm on the m1 on a weekend, there are tons of them.. but less on the m40.. in the week, it is less of a problem..

personally i think that modern vehicles & the toys in them contribute.. the average new car has a much higher front & rear end to the ole nova, and it skews people's perception of distance and that coupled with the rather silly idea that ABs & airbags make the car safer, thus you can drive like a bigger pillock make for some idiotic driving...

now, something i have found recently is that for some reasons on the m1 northbound, that one particular group of drivers are the worse by far... tailgating, undertaking, weaving, dodging lanes like on an old computer game, the works really, indians, either hindu or sikh seem to be the worse. muslim drivers are worse in town.

now the above observation is based purely on what i've seen on the road, and is not to be construed as a racist comment. but when you are in the third lane & following a fast moving vehicle, and an indian in a merc comes flying up behind you, flashing their lights, followed by swerving into lane 2, then lane 1, then getting boxed in by 2 lorries, then anchoring up & swerving into lane 2 again to find they are now 400 yds worse off so they repeat the move.. sort of sticks in your memory, especially when 5 mins later another one does it......

if im in the fast lane doing 70mph and someone flys up behind me flashing the lights i never move but if they come up behind me slowly and wait i ll move and let them pass

Me too. :) half the time I can watch out for the oncoming Merc/Audi/BM exiting a roundabout & witness it A) fail to overtake & B) rocket off at full derv-boost ignoring the speed limit.

I guess you'd need to be in an unmarked/covert 1.2 Nova to capture all this. lol

I'd love to be a traffic cop, I'd nobble half the cars round here in the first week. Illegal plates is my personal gripe, I see soooo many of them!

With you on that one. Our works barge, its like looking down a tunnel when you check the interior mirror!

if im in the fast lane doing 70mph
Whats the fast lane? Over here we have overtaking lanes, not "speed" lanes. If you're in the outside lane and not overtaking then you should get the fcuk out the way. So it shouldn't matter if someone comes up behind flashing at you, as you can't move over because you're overtaking someone.

It really isn't, being a van driving i'm on the road all day and its there all day long. I spend my day having to over take them but keep below 75 then moving back in to the inside lane (flyby) with them not even seeing i was there... The m6 was the worse bit of road i've found for a long line of cars doing it.. I under took 11 cars on it when going to collect my seats.

Nah, they will do it no matter what car is about...

Like straight lining a roundabout.. I have no prob with it as long as its clear, its when there is a car on the inside of you there is a prob.. Or the pricks that come to a roundabout with a car on it and carry on pulling out as the car is trying to pass them to turn off.. (i get that everyday as i go in to work 9out of 10 times people do it)

Gaaahhhhh that gets my goat as well lol

Tis a fine example of what I said about the Celica getting more courtesy on the road than the Nova though. Every time, people chop across lanes in front of the nova, yet its barely happened a few times in the Celica.

Maybe beause its bigger, maybe because people think the nova will be slow, dunno.

The motorway should be included as part of the driving test in some way, giving a licence to an inexperienced driver ( of any age ) and absolutly no training or advice on driving on the roads with high speed traffic is sooooo fooking stupid.

And you think novas are bad for getting cut up? Try driving hgv's! People mistake the gap I leave infront of me ( which is my braking space ) as there personal invitation to cut in right infront of me, I also find it's mostly shirt and tie folk that are mostly the culprits,

motorway manners are dire in the UK, but they are 1000000% worse at the weekends, when the folks who use them during the week get off and the retards get on lol.

Lmfbo @ muslim/ethnic drivers there fooking **** ****ers. Well they are in bolton jesus christ its aweful when on the bike hence why I eventually got knocked off by one the ****ing cock grrrr. And one even went into the back of a parked up evo... I've had a few near misses due to the bellends not indicating and generally not paying any attention to anything at all.

I never have a problem with tailgaters or people blocking my way, they see a bike heading there way and most people move over to let me past. Same with the evo tbh, most people just moved out my way.

people indicating wrong at islands is bugging me atm - why drive past 3 exits with your left indicator on ? then shout abuse at me as i try and pull out thinking your leaving the island at my exit !!!

and people who slow right down when you filter behind them - 'dont look at me, ****ing drive'

when i drove wagons full time, i would get into almighty rows on roundabouts, with people who think you don't need to indicate right to go right... they'd be entering the roundabout & i'd see they were going straight & pull out...

try driving a tractor capable of 30mph through a city..... it is way better than any computer game.. they can't comprehend what a tractor is, and how it has just burnt them off at the lights, or just overtaken them

i had an idiot in a rover75 the other week who was in the right hand lane of a dual carriageway holding me up at about 20mph below the speed limit, he had his wife & kids in with him and the windows down... and i had my kids in with me.. so when he finally pulled up at the roundabout, i got alongside him and asked him if his tracking was out, or was he simply too posh for the left lane...

My own personal pet hate, people who either wont indicate on roundabouts or indicate incorrectly, youre trying to pass them as they indicate right onto a roundabout say, and then they flick the left one on and go straight on, wtf you were telling me you were turning right a second ago you nob!!

Or the ones who simply will not indicate off so youre sat there waiting for them to pass in front of you and take the exit to your left and they take the one to the right, i couldve been on my way if youd have flicked that little switch you inconsiderate tosser lol

if im doing the limit why should i move for speeders lol

The worst possible attitude a driver could possibly have imo, deciding if someone else is speeding and putting a stop to it is not your job (unless youre a copper) its the duty of the police and if you cause another vehicle to slow down/change lanes/alter their driving in any fashion because of something you have either done (i.e. pull out on them) or not done (i.e. will not move over to allow them to pass) then you are legally in the wrong!

when my family were heading back from disneyland paris, with missus driving, we were on the peage & there were 2 lanes of heavy traffic, and we were in the third, following a van doing about 80 (legally)..this french prat came hurtling up behind us flashing his lights for us to get out of the way, even though it was obvious there was nowhere to go.. the van pulled in & just as my missus cogged it & floored the throttle... it was rather funny to see this prat still flashing his lights and getting blown away by a touran tdi. childish, but very funny

many years ago, i was driving a pickup on the oxford ring road, there was a long term set of roadworks, and it went into a single lane. all the locals just drove in a line in one lane on the approach to the roadworks and had been doing for months. i was near the front of the line & this rep in a peugeot 405 came sailing down the second lane at high speed thinking he was so clever. so i flashed the bloke in front & signalled to the bloke behind, and we made a kink in the line. the rep couldn't get in, and as we went thru the cones, every other vehicle did the same thing, and this bloke just couldn't get in....

Similar sort of thing also happens on Lutterworth Road going into Leicester just past Graeme Goodes, big que of traffic 3/4's the way back upto Soar Valley Way and you always get some hero's charging down the offside lane chopping in at the bottom where the lights are.

...then stomp on the brakes and swerve into whatever is to his left causing an accident. Nice!

Roadworks make me laugh. Leaving it til the last minute is fine, its people who push in halfway down teh road and stop, blocking the second lane. If people in both lanes joined together, zipper fashion, there would be no tailback, but people are generaly so aggressive they don't want to let anyone else into "their" space.

im always undertaking middle lane hoggers, get fed up of sitting at 30 in a 50 because people dont move over. So just take the completly clear left hand lane all the way to the exit. Then people have the cheek to go flashing there lights, do notice alot of people move over once i pass though, maybe just wakes them up
