farm spec sandersons were awful. with a door that was designed to be smacked by the back wheel, the engine that pretty much needed removing to get the oil changed, hiding the battery under the boom, so when there is a flat battery, you can't get the old battery out, etc.. it was made & not designed, in my opinion.. they made a pivot steer one (think matbro) and that was even more dangerous..

the new cat stuff is getting more user friendly, like the manitou & jcb....but that is what they are doing to their whole product range.. its taking them a while, but they are getting there.. our firm had a backhoe on long term demo, and we also have hired jcb stuff to the factory, don't know why......

but the merlo is a breakdown waiting to happen

Is that still in Coxhoe quarry Royston?

I've been there a few times, way back when for the DJB/Artix/Cat open days and demo's as the old man has worked for them for years.

Yes the one from epsom. Written off by a **** in a saxo - nevermind.

It turns out the boot floor was rotten anyways and it needed both the rear arches doing properly as they were bodged at some point.

But on the plus side, the saxo also died. Vauxhall 1 - Citreon 1
