acid dip is a big no no, they will turn to mush and just form a reactive surfice ridiculously quick, shot blasting is what you want. less harsh

i prefer sand blasting its dry and once wiped its ideal to paint over with no reactions or such like.

Stu (7ova) said that for full set of wheels blasted and coated was in the region of £180 IIRC

i shot blasted mine, smooth as a babies bum, if you use harsh stuff you will pit the alloy because its a very soft metal. just have to be delicate with it. otherwise it feel furry, but do it right and give it filler primer will be as good as new!

someone said you cant use acid.

we have acid at work, and the guy who supplies it says the alloy guys love it, as it strips wheels in seconds. its fooking expensive mind, and proper toxic. like if it touches your skin it can kill you toxic.

i suspect everyone uses shotblasting etc as its alot cleaner as mentioned.
