hello
im just starting to build a gt hotrod for oval racing, im using a 1.4 engine which is fairly basic due to the rules, you only stay in second gear all the time so which box will be best so i can accellerate fast but wont make the engine out in revs down the straight,
im running a corsa b with the 1.4 engine and sr carb,
thanks in advance

thanks for the link but i have not idea what ratios are for what box or what and f13cr is ex ex, im new to all this so i dont have a clue, all im guessing is that the shorter the final drive the quicker it will pik up speed but i need a long second gear to keep the revs low at higher speed, alot of them swop parts in boxes to make there own with the ratios thay wish

SRi gearboxes are F13 :thumb: but only difference is the larger bellhousing, internals are the same

the boxes are stamped W or C (wide or close ratios) followed by 3 numbers which identify the final driver (ie 418 = 4.18) so use a W for the longer gears followed by a close ratio final drive to aid acceleration (try a 418 first then 394)

one i have read is using a 22,1 gear change and a 4.1 diff, does that sound good, what does it mean?

bizarre lol im sure the SRi had a larger flywheel and clutch (same as GTE/GSi) and as such had an F13 for the larger bellhousing  not to worry!
