I bought the saloon as it came up at the right time. It was either that or a 205 Mi16 (after my mate's brief experience with one I'm glad I didn't get one) or a 106 GTi or Glanza-V. Nothing French or Jap appeared at the time so the Nova was built instead.

Thinking back I was tempted for a Pug 205GTi when I was looking for a GSi, but it was always going to be a Nova.

Astra GTE's were my childhood hot-hatch-hero though.

I'm sure many people would agree, but as these things have become rare in the last 5 years or so, there appeal has crossed over to people that hated them. I for one despised r5's back in the day but find them very alluring now.

i had a 106 ph1 derv that ate gearboxes, so io got the nova as cheap transport. 3 days later a manta gte coupe was traded in for £200, i didnt have the cash for both. my workmate got it and drifted it into a parked panda car..... n4 weeks after. :(
