I am fitting an after-market digital dash into my nova and need some help/advice on wiring it in. Sorry for a long winded post I am a total wiring novice, but have tried to be as clear as possible! I'll start with research first!
I have used the haynes wiring diagrams to identify what wire does what...
For reference here is what I have that comes to the big plug for the instrument pannel (Please note i'm 100% on all these, them diagrams are complicated! lol)
2 x Black wires (One looks slightly thicker than the other and I couldn't find what there for on the diagrams. Anyone know what these are??)
1 x Black White Green = Indicator Direction Light
1 x Blue Green = Oil Pressure Light
1 x Brown Red = Brake Warning Light (I assume this is for fluid level)
1 x Blue White = No Charge Ignition Light
1 x White = Main Beam Light
1 x Brown = Fuel Level Light / Volt Meter / Tacho (Not sure which it is as they were all listed as being this colour)
1 x Brown White = Handbrake Light
1 x Grey Green = Instrument Illumination
1 x Blue Black = Fuel Level Light
1 x Blue = Temperature Gauge Sender
Now for the wiring harness for the digital dash lights.... It has 4 lights which can be alloted to different things.
I'm going to use:
1. Indicator Direction Light.
2. Main Beam Light
3. Oil Pressure Light
4. No Charge Ignition Light
Each of the 4 bulbs have 2 wires from each, these 8 wires run to a plug (see pic below)

From the other side of the plug there is only 6 wires (see pic below) 4 of which are the individual positives to each bulb and the other 2 wires are earths.

My question is do I simply join the 4 positive wires from my digi dash loom to the corresponding wires in the nova loom for the 4 functions I chose and earth the 2 negative wires to the chasis?? And do I disregard the remaining wires in the nova and tape them up?
And can anyone confirm the colours of the fuel pump wires as a Red and a Grey Wire (if so which is + and -)??
and same again for the fuel level sender, one blue one brown (which is + and -)??
Apologies if I'm just being retarded, but at least the wire identification might be of use to someone!! lol )
Thanks. Ian :thumb:
