probably one of the following mass meter knock sensors or crank sensor or could be your coolant temp sensor
Rocker covers leaking oil into the plugs???

Rocker covers leaking oil into the plugs???
either ^ or it sounds like there might be a crack in the head/heads possibly? and as the engine gets warm it opens up and runs pap, my old 318is used to do the same.
Aye, check for oil in the plugs. If so, and its got plastic rocker covers, they've probably warped.
I think mine has a knackered knock sensor and it just runs down on power at any more than half throttle, whether cold or warm.

ye i heard about them warping..but ill try a few sencors first then ill change the plastic heads
They do warp, my cav HT leads used to dip with oil the well's were that full! Get some Vectra metal ones.
You can see the amount of sealer on these, and they still leaked!

cts would be my guess, cheap from vaux too
I have the exact same issue with my Cally V6. Coil pack, leads, plugs, compression, all good with no oil leaking anywhere. Tried 4 idle regs and all the same sometimes OK sometimes not so bought a new CTS from Vaux yesterday £10.34 (part no. 90510183) and going to try that.
Did the cav's have egr's?
same cts as many other vaux's IIRC, my old xe had one out of a corsa sri when mine failed

hi did the cts sort the problem out???
Bumping an old thread I know but meh, its valid.
Fitted now O-rings between the upper and lower inlet and CTS today. Engine now seems Ok; not tested it properly (only took it out for a quick pootle, as its been stood for ~four months) but it doesn't appear to flatten off at higher revs any more.
