Can I use an x14xe out of a corsa in a mk1 nova.
I want to run it on carbs probably 32/34 dmtl if I can get a suitable inlet manifold.
Dont want to use a ecu etc.
Your comments please?
Thanks.

I have an mbe loom and ecu which controlls the ignition side so you can run carbs etc. Let me know if interested

Most of it prob isnt relevant but there is a rough guide for fitting the actual engine in my sig.

Dont want to use a ecu etc. you need to there is no possible dizzy drive. try ford edis from an early mk3 carb fezzy

I was thinking of doing this, got a spare x14xe engine i bought of Ebay that needs rebuilding and im removing my twin 40's off my SR as i want to go road rallying.

SBD do a inlet manifold for twin 40's

Not sure why you'd want to remove the standard MPi setup and fit some 30year old single carb TBH.

TB's ftw

if you even stick carbs on, you'll need an ignition ecu.... so it isn't worth it....

the std setup isn't too difficult to fit, look at ste porters old 16xe nova, it looked factory. the wiring is not that difficult. the with an aftermarket intake, you get the power.

Thanks for all the tips.
I think i'll stick with the old 8v, less hassle and no messing with wiring etc.
Probably stick in a 1.4 out of an SR.
Just thought of using a slightly more modern engine as there are plenty knocking about.
Old school is still the way I think.
