i hope it will last because it is going into my mid engined nova and it will be getting alot of abuse lol the clutch wont match the shaft in the gearbox so i will have to find another clutch that will fit

yup the late vec and astra mk4s and corsa c dervs run em. you need a 1.7 td fly and a nova gte clutch.

Ifim wright in thinking and from what ive been told by a parts man at vauxhall the numbers after the F mean horsypower?

so a F17 box can withstand a thrashing with a engine pushing up to 170bhp

SO F15 -150BHP
F16 -160BHP
F20- 200BHP
F28 -280BHP

Blabla

Correct me if im wrong but makes sence. :thumb:

it was allegedly sustained torque in NM/10..... BUT I call bullsheets on that as F10 and F13 5spd gearboxes share the same bearings and parts bar the bell housing.

The F20 and F16 are pretty damn close in build etc and the F23 can take upto 1Kbhp (so thats going to be fun torque)

Just fit the F16 or F20 FFS

if the F17 is mainly a diesel gearbox its going to suck when bolted onto a petrol engine.

I always reckoned it would be lb/ft rather than NM, being GM boxes and the yanks using imperial and all that gubbins

Getrag are a euro company ;)

f17 is replacement for f15.. fitted to all 1998> small block petrol vauxhalls, maybe bar corsa - nothin diesel-specific about them.. find them in all astra mk4's vectra b's and so on.. hydraulic clutch...

As said, will need small block sourced clutch parts for it to work; easier to fit an f16- which is big block ready.. mind you its all hydraulic clutch in your vectra i guess..?

right i fitted a 1.5 td isuzu flywheel so i can use my small block clutch and pressure plate but the ring gear on the flywheel does not match the c20xe starter so i have a problem!
