Audi A3 1.8T 20v

1997

Colour: Volcano Black

Mileage: 160000

Tax: Feb 2011

MOT: July 2011

General good condition, the odd carpark dent
Some rust on bottom of drivers door, Quite a common fault, it is caused by the plastic trim at the bottom of the door collecting dirt and water.

The car started life as a demo car for Audi so came standard with all the optional extras, including, heated black leather seats, audi concert stereo and bose sound system. I currently have my own stereo system fitted to the car but will refit the concert headunit along with ipod connection for when the car goes.

Lots of reciepts and service history available. Spare keys included.

Please don't let the mileage put you off, this car has been looked after very well/regulary serviced. All parts that are prone to failing have been recently replaced and remember this is a VAG engine and will happily do 200k plus miles.

Engine:

AGU engine, this is the earliest 1.8t 20v engine which boasts the larger port head. This combined with the later k03s turbo makes a very pleasant power increase.

K03s turbo, was on 16k when fitted at the beginning of the year

Milltech cat back exhaust system with custom longlife center section. 3" downpipe and Decat (cat is included)

Turborevs front mount intercooler kit, includes custom uprated silicone couplings and heatshielding.

Forge 007p recirculating Diverter Valve

Forge DV relocation kit

Forge Turbo intake pipe

R-Tech Custom stage 2 remap producing 230bhp

Cold air intake relocated in front bumper with new filter

Custom catch tank, replaces the very common leaky PVC system

Brand new VR6 clutch and G60 flywheel upgrade 10 months ago

Chassis/Suspension:

Powerflex dogbone mount

Weitec Coilovers

H & R front and rear Anti roll bars

Brakes:

S3 312mm front Brakes with drilled and grooved discs

S3 256mm vented Rear brakes (almost brand new discs and pads)

(All calipers have been painted lime green)

Brand new Goodridge braided lines all round, replaces every rubber brake hose, also the rear solid brake lines have just been replaced.

Bodywork/Wheels:

Black Projector headlights with HID 6000k kit

S3 front bumper (brand new paint)

Custom Carbon Fibre washer jet covers

17" Black Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 Alloys

Recent new parts:

New MAF
New Coolant Temp Sensor
New thermostat
New wishbones (uprated rear TT bushes)
New Superpro Poly ARB bushes
New lower ball joints

The car has recently been remapped by a very well known and highly recommended company call R-Tech. There, the car was completely checked over and a lot of parts were replaced to make the most out of the remap. The car was successfully mapped, producing very pleasing figures. I have printouts to prove. The car feels very positive to drive and pulls very well through all the gears. The power lasts throughout the rev range unlike some other turbo cars where you can get a huge spike in boost and then nothing.

The reason I am selling up is, I want something a bit cheaper and am trying to save a bit of cash for a different car next year when my insurance premium lowers slightly.

I have a friend who knows the previous two owners before me, I have learnt a lot about the car through him and know it has been looked after and always maintained to the highest standard.

I always let the car warm up and cool down after every drive to prolong the life of the turbo.

I have lots of service history and reciepts for parts etc, however, all the recent services have been undertaken by myself. The car will be treated to new oil and filter before it goes.

Overall, the car has been quite extensively modified, however, I feel it is not "over done". Also, there is now a standard bonnet on the car, not the carbon one pictured.
