as I'm not at home at the moment and havent played novas for years,

how wise are 14" steelies as fitted to MK2 novas (I think they are 14" anyway lol, they are the holey ones)

huh, i expect a wip....

just checked it is 5.5j, but some ashtrays have the 6j ones on them in 14 inch flava.

5" is the widest OE wheel fitted to a Nova, 14" SR steel or 3 spoke alloy.

2.0 Cavalier & calibra steels in 14" were 5.5"J.

I thought they were 5" and the same style Mk2 Astra SR/Cavalier Commander Mk2 were the 5.5" ones...?

When the weather calms down I'll whip the trims off and find the width.

Might need tog et some 14" steelies though :( as 'fun' tyres are rare as funk in narrow 13's

i had 165/70 r 13's on a 1.2 on 4.5j 13 steelies, and it handled great..

Though I dont disagree. My old 1.2 had the std 13's. I commuted to uni at a jouney time of 2 hours. The weekend I put on cav 14's (5.5J) with 185/60 tyres I made the journey in 1hr35. Now that's a handling improvement!

For the record the car was utterly standard. 1985, B reg 1.2L :thumb: .
