So this keep going through my mind allot!
I dont use this car, the missis still dont have a licence so she's not using it anytime soon (although she's said if she was to want to have it, not to change it mcuh more then it is now)
So im thinking, do i keep it, as it is, sell it as it is, or just to keep me intrested in it and meaning the missis wont have it at all SR rep it?? lol
Car in question for anyone who dose not know, Billing 2010.

SR rep/high standard :)
get a let and sr rep :thumb:
SR replica would be good. Its only a bit of vinyl/paint, so nothing that can't be undone. Plus it means you can drop a nicely tuned 1400 in there! :)
sell it and spend the money on the mk2
SR rep would be nice but all the parts would be difficult to source, unless you already have some
without trying to offend you at all, maybe the price your asking for it is a little high, which kinda says you want to keep it anyway
problem is its hard to leave a nova alone with regards to modding it lol

At most i would put 1300 on T40's not tunned up, as i don't want stupid fuel cost out of it, keep it reliable'ish..
So no LET's or XE's Sorry..

That's my plan with my Mk1 mate - Standard with 40's slapped on the back lol and a 4 branch exhaust as well of course :)
NO to doing a rep. Slam it, unusual/unique rims, job done.

You know that why the price is not in a reasonable/low bracket, as if it's to sell RIGHT now then some one really has to want it desperately lol
Imo Keep it as it is, there are far to many out there thats been messed about.
Surely if you SR it you will spend alot of money it still won't be a true SR and wont be worth anymore!
sell it and spend the money on the mk2
mk1 ftw :thumb:

Not a bad idea, though I'm crap at making decisions, i would just put cav expressions on it and maybe lower it only slightly more... lol

Xe will cost far less in fuel than a 1300 on 40's i'd say. Swap it for a diesel with issues? SR (i) Looker already lol Small amounts of rust in multiple areas and an annoying tendency to develop a string of problems all at once. lol

15" RFX's or 14" RFX's :) Fully polished :) or silver with polished lip :thumb:
Lowered -60mm :)

Nah, get something unique! And mega hard slam on coilovers. All could be put back to standard easily. the right wheels and coilovers won't lose you too much money.

If i SR "rep" it i would probably cut cost on the interior unless i found one cheep, and just put the boot vinyl on and paint the sides, as i have a rear bumper and 6 dials..
xe or let would ruin a lovely standard non welded mk1 bay imo
get a 1300 in there
vaughanmc
20-09-10, 09:26 PM
1300 SR engine, F13 CR box and you could buy my mates Sport 40's and Irmscher inlet which are ready to bolt on :thumb:
16v small block?
x18xe1?
carbs are ghey lol
Wack a 2.5v6 in there and be done with it lol
scott.parker
20-09-10, 09:34 PM
Don't want nor need to do an big,or 16v engine conversion, as if was going that route, then i would break my xe and use bits of that etc..

oooh they're nice! Someone shop them on his car!

IMO SR rep it.
Theres nothing special about an SR over a std Nova other than the bumpers & seats. By that I mean the shell doesnt have stronger chassis legs or strut-top plates like GTE would do. The wiring loom is much the same aswell. Short of having a sunroof (did they have them on B/C reg?).
It's just a matter of getting hold of some brown check seats worthy enough of the condition the rest of the car is in & obviously the vinyl for the exterior.
Ploughs & rear spoilers arent as rare as they were & drop in some 6 clock dials & you are done.
If you wanted it gone you would have ebayed it by now!

Sorry guys them wheels are rank in my eyes!
Craig I'm sure you know the score, Ive got 6 dial sr clocks, correct rear bumper, have a plow in the pipelines, might just make it a 1.2 XL lol

Now these wheels i would like shopped onto it!

mmmm how much is it worth lol
Scott, your in the same situation I was in 5 years ago. I decided to go down the SR style route and over the time found even all the parts to do it all, even the interior but sadly everytime I came to buy an interior funds were short.
Also after a bit of time I noticed that I actually didn't like a rear spoiler and the door strips didn't suit my car, so that's why mine looks part finished lol
Looking back I wish mine was still as I bought it but with the SR engine and bikecarb setup, I had more fun in the car with that engine in than the current c16xe, infact if I took my engine out and put a 1.2 back in it's almost original :)
So basically I'd keep it as it is visually, don't get a plough because they look common as hell and it's been done to death, put your clocks in though seeings you've got some, oh and tbh standard seats are far more comfy than SR seats, get a nice set of suitable alloys with a 60mm drop and it will look still original and also easy to put totally original incase you regret it.
Hope this helps lol

Just do whatever you want to it, whether that be SR rep it or slam it on some nice wheels. At the end of the day if you do decide to sell it it'll still be worth some good money and if by then standard novas are really asking for a high amount, then just put it back to standard (i would definetly keep all the standard parts just incase).

Are you going to spend a fair bit of money on it and use it or spend loads of money and take it out a couple of times a year ?

In the kindest way, I disagree with a lot of that. SR seats are essential IMo if you drive the car enthusiastically. They are comfy unless they have had a fat, lard butt do 120k of farty miles in them.
Scotts car is a genuine SR colour, which means a rep is easily achieved & will look proper. I would try & source a full jamaica Yellow tailgate with spoiler & vinyl if it were me. Lastly the door mouldings & vinyls can all be peeled off if ever necessary.
Just my 10 bucks worth. :thumb:
