i navigate in a nova running an alcon 4 pot brake kit.
not 100% on the size of disc but fits under 14" wheels
the driver complains of a bit of travel in the pedal and that it is not as solid as he would like, it stops up ok, it has a nova master cyl and servo on it and there is def no air in the system
would a change of master cyl give a better feel to the pedal?
if so what one would suit?
he wont change to a pedal box as he is building a new car and doesnt want the expense of it as we will only be doing 2 or 3 more events with this car
any help would be appreciated:thumb:

A larger diameter master cylinder would reduce travel at the pedal, and will also make the pedal firmer (ie greater effort for the same decel).
The problem may also be caused by piston-knockback, this is where deflection of the disc pushes the caliper piston back (only slightly) and causes excess pedal travel. This can be cured by fitting residual pressure valves in-line with the front brakes or anti-knockback springs behind the pistons.

dont think its knock back as it is still the same if you give it a few quick pumps,
might try a bigger cyl and see how we go, it would be good practise, having to press the pedal harder for when he gets the pedal box
what other master cyl would suit and fit?

There arent any bigger direct fit master cylinders in the GM model range to choose from. Using a 22mm from a Cav or such like will need a custom bulkhead bracket making up. Nova is a 20mm bore MC btw.

thanks for that, will look into a cav one, bracket shouldn`t be a problem
