Nova rivals in 1984

Nova's at the bottom as a rival for the Honda Jazz. Was the 0-60 of a 1L really 18 seconds?!

Like the article says, the nova is a good all round car, that doesn't really do anything massively different. Which isn't a bad thing is it. Its not complicated, so easy and cheap to fix. The styling wasn't too flashy, so it didn't look out of date quickly.

Time is a good test of true quality, and its the Nova out of that bunch that is the most popular still now. If you could travel back in time and buy one of those cars new, it certainly wouldn't be the metro!

i'm guessing the autocar journalist didn't get a roll of tenners in the glove boot when he tested the nova.... there is no way on this earth that the 1.0 metro is in any way better than the 1.0 nova... and that honda thing is just plain awful

though the gearchange is one of Fiat's better efforts it is still not a strong point

Hmm, out of that the Nova comes across as "average". As for it standing the test of time, there's more early-80's Charades and Metros round here than there is Novas.

i agree mate the nova is well beter than both off them in all catagories and looks well the nova beats them all hands down!!!

To be honest im sure all our views are very differant about the ones that look best etc, On the metro forums and the likes they probs all love the look of them!! Ahhh the nova is just a sh*tbox but its fun!!

Nova's look the best standard, followed by the Dirty 'Tro I saw one for sale at the scrappy today, C reg 1 lady owner blah blah, Yellow it was pretty nice

the nova's easily look the best then i agree the metro is the next best allthough if it was a uno turbo i may be forced into saying thats 2nd best looking lol!!

Fook me tho if you think nova's rust bad them Uno's are waaay worse, mums friend had one when I was young and it had rotted after a few years from new, fooking great hole in the floor lol

When I bought my nova from archie I drove it from ayr to mine 100+miles and it was a 1.0

never again lol once I got to 60 I got scared to go any faster lol (that's if it would)

mine was a 1.0 & it was surprisingly nippy when i drove it home. it is better with 1.6 though
