Planning on remaking a wireing loom for the C20XE, as im sick of buying crummy ones, and with a new one, i know it will be my own work and such and more reliable, just the only problem i am faceing now is the shielded wires that are on a number of the cables coming from sensors. How required are theese wires to be shielded (im guessing very, due to the fact that they wouldnt do it otherwise, but i could be wrong i dont know much about it) So where can i get this stuff from? and is it all worth doing, if im successful may start making looms for sale, as im sure people have come across this problem a number of times!
Help please!

lol thought nobody could answer it.
Any shop that sells proper cabling will be able to do them.
Get the proper ends as well and the right tool for crimping them on.

Refurbing/rebuilding a wiring loom is always worth doing IMO, i have removed the complete car loom from my Nova and have started stripping all the unnecessary wiring, replacing any damaged wires and running any new wires required right back from the fusebox. Yes it can be a pain in the **** at the time, but when its finished you know it is reliable and risk of fire/electrical fault is reduced greatly and looks a lot neater than splicing into existing wires and bits of tape and solder scattered around the engine bay.
I'm sure Maplin sell shielded cables.

will give maplin a go. yeh i am hoping it iwll be worth remaking and entire engine loom. deffinatly worth it aswel.
you just need to remove one properly from a freshly scrapped car. then it will be 100%

How do you know it wasnt scrapped cause the loom was funked. and that the owner was a div and decided to use choclate blocks then tape it all back up making it unseen. rather not spend more money on a maybe, rather spend a tad more and have a brand new one. that will out last lots
Get one from a Cav or Calibra and you can look at it and remove it your self. You'll be able too see its mint then.

the only breakers yard round me is pease pottage (G.W.Bridges) and they never have cavaliers or calibra's with a C20XE engine in it, mainly the later ones for the calibra and cavlalier 8v. although you do get the odd one, but then its not a coil pack loom its a distributor type. which is no good to me
