its a wr or ur quattro.
s1 ftmfw, evo1 spec saw nearly 700bhp from a 2.7 5 cyl turbo....
nice used to be one going about here
its a shame the first one is a LWB and southies one is a SWB.
where was that thread which chopped one from a LWB to a SWB. and it also had the space above the garage with the weird contraption to get a car up there.

All the ones I've posted are the SWB lol That's the one I prefer.
i really should post the article on hannu mikkola's opinion on the quattros, that was in the 60th anniversary autosport edition
he reckoned the short ones were all but undriveable, and the lwb ones were way better....

this one is the tom hammond one.. he was the boss of hammonds furniture.. 700hp hillclimber.... it actually had mdf spoilers, cos they were cheaper to repair. i used to see this regularly in the early nineties on a trailer towed behind a racing green roadgoing swb quattro...... that man had style & cash too

me two matey!! and no mayhem i didnt leave a note lol
the swb was actually a cut & shut of an audi 90 front end & a 100 coupe rear.. the 90 had a more upright windscreen so the drivers helmets had more cage clearance

Mowgli, that would be the one I posted then in the second picture then, I learn more and more each day from you old timer. lol

i was at silverstone with an old mate last weekend watching the 1000km, and he says...'remember that trip to nottingham?' the trip was me & him bunking off school, and two buses, a train & 2 buses later, we were watching the woolaton park stage of the rac rally, and the last time the group B cars ever ran in competition together... quattro, rs200, s4, t16, 6r4.. manta400 nissan 240rs, celica, they were all banned from international rallying at that end of that day ...

When you know about the short wheelbase UR's, the regular LWB's look tame IMO.
There was a chopped one in MAX Power years ago. Pretty cool in terms of replicas I reckon. Always look best in Red too.

biggest mistake ever
Off topic. what is this bank machine you speak of? lol

when you look at the thousands of miles we ever did, three kids sat on the enormous back seat with no belts, those spindly pillars holding the roof on, its amazing we survived the seventies
mate, you was safer then than you are now. now your more likely to get burns or whiplash from the airbags and belts, cars are stronger so ccrumple less so impact forces are higher. the list goes on.

its good old yorkshire bank on heavens walk doncaster lol
If you look at the video section, title , group b rally cars I've posted a link to the audi going up pikes peak,
Audi actually left group b before the ban took effect, and the father and son who own protec motorsport were rebuilding a quattro like the mouton one a few years back, the father was a audi mechanic back in the day for the rally teams iirc, Glasgow Audi have a pearleasent UR and a red Sport both in the showroom, they also had a ex works swb rally car too but it's been gone for a while now.

Nice contradiction there lol
yes, older cars crumpled more, mostly onto the occupants. Modern cars still crumple, but do so in a controlled fashion.
Oh no, I got seatbelt burn, I wish I was in an old car and had my legs turned into patee :wtf:
mum always told me if i became a veggie she'd turn off the machine. she meant it.

Getting the NLA bits required from Audi for the rest of the conversion is quite another thing (trust me, I'm an Audi owning geek!) lol
