The past couple days my cars been lazy starting but today it wouldn't

I have a digi dash fitted and it's only showing 12v when driving, there's no voltage coming from the big terminal on the alternator

On the thin blue/White there's 6v all the time

there's only 12v coming from the battery terminals when running

I can't see any battery light on the digi dash to check if it goes off

Alternator fubard?

My mate has about 30 smallblock alternators so am sure he will have one for me

Fitted the replacement alternator and I'm getting 14v on the battery and clocks when running

when I use my tester on the big terminal on the alternator I'm still getting nothing though, there's 12v on the blue/White though

Right was out in the car tonight and everything was fine untill I came home and noticed my voltguage was very low

so I drove to the top of a hill and turned it off and it wouldn't start again

my battery light is flashing, the connections on the alternator seem find but it's quite dark outside and the belt is fine too

any ideas?

i reckon one of the following...

1. if the digidash has a regulator, it is shot
2. the alternator is still not working.
3. a cell is going down on the battery.

How do I test a battery?
The alternator worked fine when I fitted it though

Got another alternator to try tommorow

just to clarify I should get 12-14v from the large connector and no volts from the trigger wire when it's running proper

Right just had a little read about alternators

if the alternators working I should get less than 14v from the trigger wire when not running and when it's running it should be equal to the main power wielre on the alternator (14v) if the alternator is working

if I get no voltage from the main connector and some on the trigger wire the alternator is ****ed yes?
