Just put theese on for a trial fit as a mate has the for sale at an extremely reasonable price, as i know i had a thread saying trouble with wheels. yes... no... reasons why?

Just looking, camera pictures always do my car justice, its not as mint as it appears (they all like that really)
long as you take the jack out of the back end they might work lol Personally not a fan of them, bit too 'flat' for me, but many more besides me love them. Think you'd need to drop it almost euro style to pull it off though
Needs to be lower for those..
i actually like that alot

Looks OK, but I know they dont fit & so for that reason I can't like them on the car as much as I like the wheels themselves. Does that make sense?

One of my favourite alloys, sadly on a hatch Nova they don't fit and look too high unless your wanting to butcher your arches.
They look better on Saloons TBH.
Lower at the back, looks great otherwise :)
Not a fan, to run them you'll have to keep it high at the back and that's a tad gay. body coloured Revos with a crome lip would look better IMO
I think they are marmite wheels!
You either love them or hate them.
Can't make my mind up, they look odd in the arches. Sorry!
I think wheels are a very personal choice though.

I think wheels are a very personal choice though.
Thats kinda true, though how many cars roll on wheels that blatantly dont suit them. It's about having something that suits the car, not what the customer likes in the showroom.
love it mate really want a set for mine needs to be lower though

Also I don't think they suit your car because is yellow, look best against black red well any other colour tbh lol

This man talks sense.
Cant see pics, what are they?
stop crying.. mod the arches and give it an 80 drop.
all this et49 crap..
these look like the et38 version? with 175-50?
there's also a 165-45-15....

I like the wheels themselves, but the combination of Wide/wrong offset will lead to trouble (wheel bearings, vehicle handling, etc)
I also do not like the stretched look personally, and as an engineer think tyres fitted in this way are an accident waiting to happen:eek:
lol
it's not like he's fitting 15j... bearings dont mind, and the tyres don't mind.
btw, if opel really didnt trust bearings.. why does an ascona/manta i400 has oem 9 and 11j wheels? lol
Awesome wheels IMO
If you don't want to ruin your rear arches you'll have to mod the rear beam like I'm going to for them to fit

Ronal Turbos on a mustard yellow mk1.

The man from Del Monte says yes!
I nearly bought some of these for mine, but Porsche wheels came up cheap!
As Mayhem says, sort your rear arches, lower it slightly and enjoy!

i wanted some lronal turbo's for my nova but didnt want to have to mod her but they look f*cking awesome though fella!!!
I like the wheel, but not sure they suit a hatchback application. Not keen on the tyres either. Mind you, would look better with the rear end down lower.
Ronals suit saloons the best though... as Floydy proves:

I think they look awesome, but the rears need to be closer in so it can be lower.
I'd buy them and have them machined down a bit.
Tuck every time over poke.

I wouldnt ruin the back arch lips for a set of wheels that are 'in' right now.
They might be legendary, but they are also having their time again. Don't do it!

need to go bit lower on back then :thumb:
Exactly, A mustard SR will always be sought after, low offset "Euro" wheels may not be
me no like, certainly a nice wheel but better on a loon, it seams to suit the arches on a loon better due to the shape.

Not bad but the rear needs to sit a tad lower.

that does make sense dont worry.
I agree with a lot of the comments, they do look a bit funny in the arches, and they do need to be flared, but i am not ruining a good sr just for a trend, i just put them on to see what people think, it may be a no go but there beign sold for £250 which isnt bad, need two new front tyres however. the wheel sticks a good amount proud of the front arch i must say and it does need to be lower at the back, i said that when i stuck them on, which i will be doing, but still not sure on the wheels.

Volk TE-37. Very very nice lightweight wheel.

16-09-10, 12:39 PM
Naaa it'll just look like it's on stilts. Need to find something very similar but 15/16 inch.
I think the problem with split rims like that is anything under 17" and you start running out of room for the spokes, so they look a little squashed :(
Nova_Tek
16-09-10, 01:01 PM
yeah probably. But they are a very nice rim and would probably look well on the Nova. Oh well, the search will continue.

for £250 id buy them and save them for another car lol but i very much agree with not ruining a sr for a trend i wanted them on mine as i said untill i realised it'd need arch work ect ect to get them on!!
there 425 euro new (no tyres).. so ?250 is a normal price with 2 bold tyres.

But no one over here actually buys them new really, so a lot of the time you can ask what you like for them as some mug will pay it lol

I absolutley love them wheels , i used to want a set of them but found out they dont fit properly :( , They look beaut on loons and yours doesnt nececarrily look bad but could do with being lower mate which isnt an option if youd like to maintain them lovley mustard arches !!:thumb:

yeh they do, i just have the monies for it
I think the wheels look lush! althought they suit saloons more i think you could pull it off as it still looks good. Would need the back of your car lowering on to them a bit though. Also they are quite wide and if you kept them and did lower your car would suggest widening the arches to make sure they fit. But then im not a fan of widend arches lol
