I can't find where my coolant is leaking from, the only thing I can find is it dripping from the sump, could it be coming from there??? I can't find it coming from any higher

that'll be the water pump, get it replaced asap
Cheers John I'll go get one
pull the covers off fella, you should be able to see if better then.
cracked block? coreplugs? try sticking a bars 'dogsh!t' in it..... they sort out leaks
i'll have a fiver ln saying it's the water pump, it'll track down the block there.
it probably is, i was just giving him another option, but considering the pump is pretty much a consumable i won't be betting

A local garage want £125 to change it and the cambelt/tensioners etc. Sounds OK to me
Do it yourself ya lazy ****, its only a 8v.
But I could go do 10hrs overtime at work and pay for that after tax and spend the whole day dossing, having a laugh and flirting with the old birds at work... they love the attention
Oh and main point I'd stay dry mmm dry

You think my Local motor factors will be less?
Pump will prob be similar but i wouldnt pay £40 for a 8v cambelt and tensioner!
i got a 1.6 8v belt and tensioner and waterpump for £38 last month. took 40 mins to fit. make sure you thread lock the crank pulley bolt and that the keyway/notch lines up.
I assure you it wouldn't take me 40mins to fit it so I'll let a garage do it. Plus no locking tool and stuff
i assure you, as someone who has lost count of the ones ive done, it takes 40 mins. the haynes states 1.5 hrs....
and 8valvers dont have locking tools.....
I mean it would take me longer
What is that sensor you can see in the pics? I have a c14se coilpack version with nothing plugged in there
Would the plug for that be on the loom as I haven't anything plugged in there and don't think I have any spare plugs
Yes it's taped up both near the original oil switch and behind the dash. It's blue with yellow or green stripe IIRC
Actual plug for it is taped up?
Yes. The connector on the dash for the oil guage is a spade connector rather than being part of the multi plug and the there is another spade at the sensor end covered in plastic.
I'd take a picture for you but the car is up against wall in the garage at the moment so can't get to the driver side.
