Erm.....i fitted my headlights/indicators yesterday. All working fine. Got one wire(black one) with a grey connector. Comes out along with the rest of the wires for the N/S headlight.

Any clues? lol

Sorry. My car is a mk2. I replaced the loom which is also form a mk2. Well i'm 90% sure it was a mk2.

is it something to do with either h/lamp motors, or something daft like aux lighting or even headlamp washers?

Thats what i thought. All things that need connecting are connected. Head lights, side lights, indicators, level adjusters, the earth lead....At abit of a loss really!

that looks like the switched live for the coil on a carb model

Not needed on an XE conversion then?? TBH i have no clue as i swapped the looms. The loom (that this wire is from) is not the original SRi loom.

i thought that was the give your motor 15bhp more wire ??? lol

I concur, deffo looks like a coil wire.
