how can i tell if my cam is a standard gsi one is there any codes numbers to check if so what is it.havein trouble startin .gettin the fuel and spark and the only thing i did not change was the cam as i bought it as a non runner

Someone may know what the markings should be, maybe a GM stamp or casting would help, but tbh I can't see a cam stopping it from atleast starting.

Something else is amiss.

getinf spark and compression wants to fire just wont catch seems to build up as if its goin to go and then gives up

is it an original fit in a gsi? or a transplant?

i got a x16 block from a spi astra with very low miles and put my gsi recon head and mpi stuff on with the gsi cam and rocker

what ecu is it running? is it dizzy or not?

ok. i reckon its something like ht leads on wrong. cos the bosch type is very reliable. is the warning light on or off?

what light would that be can u tell me the order of things for the leads to double check

the only plug i have left over is the one on the back of the black oil temp i think was told i did not need to get it to go

the amber light on the dash? with any fault codes..

dizzy-leads from the lh side are...

dnt have the yb wire for the fault light on my engine loom could that be a prob .leads are on right

if the ecu/afm is the 15pin variety, i have a proper gm efi fault finder for the gte engine. it fits in with a plug & socket arrangement between the afm/ecu & the loom, and you can actually play with all sorts of functions...

if you want to pay carriage both ways, i can lend it to you.

thanx m8 that would be good got a guy comin for a look next week sometime if he has no joy i will take you up on your offer:thumb: had another nosy there num 1 cylinder plug is dry and black and the rest are just soaking wet with fuel who knows lol enough for the night
