Sorry if this is a repost,

could anyone tell me where i need to drill a hole, and what size of hole to drill to enable me to feed the loom for the ecu into the back of the dash?

thanks,
david.

Im sure i did mine 60mm mate with a holesaw. You cut it next to the aerial wire hole

i would get hold of the rubber grommet from a car with an XE loom, then drill the hole to suit that then fit the grommet to make it nice and watertight :thumb:

if the loom is ok it will have the grommet on it. hole is 62 mm

Andy
12-09-10, 08:28 PM
so my 60mm would be right then

The ECU is not waterproof on these and designed to be inside the car.

Continue typing "m8" instead of "mate" and I will take a dump in every one of your teacups!

I used a 58mm holesaw.

This kept the grommet nice and tight:)

cheers lads, been to vauxhall, halfrauds, and local merchants but having no luck sourcing a gromet that big:(,
halfrauds was closest at 25mm.

Dont want to mount the ecu in the bay incase it gets damaged by water etc.

What size is the one on the other side? I might have a spare or try a scrappy run? Find one that'll fit?

Does your loom not have it on? Get one from a scrappy, most are closely the same size.

It'd be from the somewhat defensive aggressive attitude and threats of violence from being told you're a tool for putting a non waterproof ecu in the engine bay of a car.

aggressive attitude mate read the thread properly i post my opinion sfew folk have a point of it not been waterproof one fool decides to say maybe it will m8 itself to his face ?? now tellme thats not agressivve atitude what makes me laff is i have been on forums for years only just fount this one and as i have owned 22 novas and am i big fan of them i thought this would be a good site so far all i get to speak about is sarcasm and told im agressive and defensive infact how about a put a ecu around your face see how you react to that? i would imagine pretty much the same way

right i have read them twice now and i fail to see why you warn me when the first rule says this

1. Post libellous, insulting, antagonistic, racist, aggressive or otherwise abusive remarks about any individual or company either within forum posts or the PM system. Any views expressed on this forum are the opinions of individuals and not of the club/forum as a whole.

now to me that is what certain members were doing to my post of opinion being aggressive and insulting i simply defend myself and get warned... get real mate and put your self in my shoes becouse to be honest its getting a joke now i could of reacted aggressive myself but i simply laffed it off now i think if you are TRYING get people play by the rules then it should apply to every one and warnings should be givin to those aggressive and abusive members not the newbie who simply explains were my ecu is mounted

Ok pm sent, thread closed.

Behave you lot, i have explained what the score is, but some of you chaps have to remember that new guys will not always understand your humour, and take offence easily. At least let them settle in abit and learn the ropes.

A simple, polite, exact PM would of solved all of this.
