More infos in the headgasket thread :( Rather not spam this guys thread though!
the engine has the specs from the leh engine.
before the engine whent out off the vxr, eds from germany has done the software 308bhp and 468nm
the problems are the original whire.it is nearly impossible to put it completeliy in the nova.there is no room for it.
the colour is from opel speedster 596
it is a orange/gold pearl

Awesome, more deatils and pics required!

arjo is a painter by profession, worked at a local opel dealer for about 20 yrs, and a few years ago started his own bodyshop :)
people should do this more, but it needs a lot of mods to fit a F23 box.
the chassis leg is almost a full custom jobbie.
we bild the nova are self.the z engine is no problem to get into the nova.ther is more room, the cilinderhead is smaller done a c.
big problem was the f23 gearbox, had to rebuilt the chassis off the nova.
that is fukking awesome. i want it. nice use of the astra intercooler. and the header!! everytime i look at this theres another trick bit.
the z engine is no problem to get into the nova.ther is more room, the cilinderhead is smaller done a c. and naplam said it was too big..... lol

and naplam said it was too big..... lol
the engine is no problem.but there is nothing that fits from a c20let/xe
i had to make all new engine mounts.
there in not alot off room but you al now thislol
i allso have the radiateur from the 1.5td in the nova
the ic is verry big, this is the one from eds size 340x340x95

Looks a top project.
Don't the xe/let engine mounts fit the block?
Or is it a custom setup?
Looks a top project.
Don't the xe/let engine mounts fit the block?
Or is it a custom setup?
if you whoud use a f20/f28 box you can use the engine mounts from the xe/let
but i have the f23 box then the engine is 5cm more to the front,so there for i had to make the four mounts my self
so if you bolt it to a f28 it fits on xe mounts?
also wiring wise how are you sorting the CAN wiring?
also if it was me id be fitting nyloc nuts to your engine mounts ;)

has bin done,old foto's;)
so if you bolt it to a f28 it fits on xe mounts?
also wiring wise how are you sorting the CAN wiring?
if it fits on the mounts i dont now,i think the two for the gearbox will fit
the one on the left front on the chassis maybe, the one in the front you need to make.
the wiring i am working on at the moment.
Hello everybody,
my name is Ilona and I'am Arjo's wife. Nice to see the positive reactions. It's the stimulance we need to keep going.
We have been building for 5 years now, on and off, finally it looks more like the car I wanted.
Now I need to wait to start racing :)
Kind regards

Nice to see Holland has the occasional surprise up its sleeve! :-)
Lots of work gone into this build. Hats off to you sir! (not forgetting Ilona who is no doubt serving mugs of tea and sarnies at regular intervals)
Cheers from Lelystad,

Nice to see Holland has the occasional surprise up its sleeve! :-)
Just like de world cup...lol
when we lost..
@ pastry,
Off course I'm ready, but I'd rather have a workshop pastry than pie. For me a pie is different than pastry or cake.
stop talking and fix the clutch arjo ;)
@rob iirc he's going to run a stand alone management. he tried to fit the full astra loom, but that wasnt possible.
there was a trick to avoid a lot of the canbus system... fit a speedster (vx220) ecu, that doesnt have a lot of the crap that a 'comfy' astra has.
the stand alone management is nearly fininst.
there are some littel things to do but it's nearly running
WOWWW  arjo you are very brave man with electrics with this :thumb: lol
Loving the door handles, what are they off?

What is the advantage of the f23 over the f28? Just that its newer? Are f23 6 speed?
Sorry how rude! Awesome project idea mate, as said, glad someone has done it.
Simps there 5spd mate but there a little newer than the f20 and have the same mount pattern so it saves going f28 if you dont want.
Thanks!
The f23 is a 5-speed gearbox.
And the f23 is a newer gearbox very cheap to buy, and to rebuild. But I can always go for a m32 gearbox, its fits on the same mounts as the f23.
Best regards, Arjo.
@ Damen.
The mount pattern of the F23, is completly different, than a F20/F28 gearbox
On the f23 and for example the M32 gearbox the fixings are on top of the gearbox, and on the F20/F28, the fixings are on the front of the gearbox.

Firstly well done I always thought bout fitting a 'z' engine in my nova but never had the balls or money I'm VERY jealous!!!
I noticed you had to change to a cable shift too?
yes the f23 gearbox is a cable shift.but this is very ease to make, drill a hole in the chassis lead the cable thtough the inner fence.end it works:)

i am looking iff i can go too the vauxhall meeting att sante pod next year.

Another excellent example coming from Holland! Well done!
Brilliant stuff mate! Good on you for getting stuck in and not running a mile when you see a complicated loom! I can only imagine what a nightmare it must be to transplant a canbus system.
I look forward to more progress. :)

there might be a day that the dutch corsa A forum will be at santa pod, we have spoken about this a few times :)
just saw on the calender that the vauxhall meeting at santa pod on the same date is when we have a big opel meeting att the track off assen.
(hey joop alles goed)
We are looking for a possibility to come to Santa Pod. It might be possible, it all depends on the times at Assen. I will check with some other Corsa guys what the times for scrooteneering last year where.

Would that be an all German day at Assen, or an Opel-only day? I visited the All German Day at Assen a few years ago and didn't like it. Rubbish organisation and crap weather didn't help either, mind. I for one would go to the Pod. Driving on the left hand side of the road rules! :thumb:

it's still crap tbh.. but afaik the DHRA has been asked to do the 1/4 mile (1st mistake.. assen doesnt have a 402m straight lol) so loads of us are going dragging.
