diesel tank!!! same or diff as petrol tank??

help needed here, iv got a leaky rotten diesel tank, obv im looking for a replacement but can only find 1 n its £140, hence i want to know if any1 knows if they are the same as petrol tanks and if they are then will any tank do???? mk2 if that helps.........p.s any knowledge will be an improvement, cheers
